Biography


Norwegian Ann Christin Elverum knew at a young age that she wanted to work in showbusiness. Just 16 years old she got her first role in the Norwegian production of the musical "Ben Hur". Ann Christin studied musical theatre at the Ballet Academy in Göteborg (Sweden) and dance at London Studio Center. In Norway she played Rizzo in "Grease", Maria in "The Sound of music", Anita in "West Side Story", Nancy in "Oliver!", Alina in "Tonight" and one of the Soulgirls in "Jesus Christ Superstar". In 2000 she first came to Germany to appear as Esmeralda in "Disney's Der Glöckner von Notre Dame". After being part of the ensemble and understudying the titlerole in "Elisabeth", Ann Christin Elverum went on to portray Fantine in "Les Misérables" in Berlin. She played Marguerite in the German premiere production of "The Scarlet Pimpernel" in Halle and Mina in the first european production of Frank Wildhorn's "Dracula" in Switzerland. In "3 Musketiere" she appeared as Queen Anna and Milady de Winter both in Berlin and Stuttgart. In Germany, Ann Christin Elverum went on to play Florence in "Chess" and the Witch in "Into the Woods". In Norway, she performed as Anne Rimer in "Bak Vollene", Ingrid in "Sverdet" and Harriet in "Det hendte i den Gamle by". With "Cats" she recently toured through Germany as Gumbie Cat and Grizabella. Returning to "Elisabeth" in autumn 2011, Ann Christin will play Countess Esterhazy, Elisabeth, Sophie as well as Ludovika/Frau Wolf.

In addition to her numerous stage engagements Ann Christin Elverum has also been involved in several CD productions like the recording of Halle's original castalbum of "The Scarlet Pimpernel". In her hometown Sarpsborg she leads the "Masken barne- og ungdomsteater", a school where children and adolesents are taught in acting, singing and dancing. She is also directing school productions like "Reisen til Julestjernen".
