Message from Ann Christin

Hello everyone...and a Happy New Year....
I know it's kinda late, but now no one can say that I haven't wished him or her a happy new year - oh well, what the heck, let's add a Merry Christmas as well...
So Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to everyone I know and don't know!!!

Anyways....

First I would like to thank everyone for the very nice and thoughtful messages, cards and gifts the last year, it helped a lot during that very bleak phase of my life.
It was a very difficult and trying time, and I'm thankful for a new year.
Whoever says that 7 are a lucky number again....

For all of you who don't know, I was finally, after 2 ½ months of wrong treatment, correctly diagnosed with "a black-eye-syndrome". In short, it means that, at a certain place in my back, I'd lost the deep tissue muscles, - they can't tell when it occurred, only that it resulted in my "collapse" in Stuttgart.
I've since then been in ambulatory rehab, at an amazing practice in Berlin, started working mid November, but then as a producer and director of the Christmas Musical my school was having.

Yes, that's correct, my school.... I guess that's also news - I've since June 2007 been the proud owner of an evening school that teaches drama, singing and dance.
My plan is to get it going so I can do the "bossing around" from wherever I work and live.
The school is not a new school; June Rustan, my former teacher, mentor and owner of the school, founded it in 1989. When she asked me if I wanted to take over the school, I was at first hesitant, thinking that it will be a difficult combination, but it all comes down to: giving back. The school has about 170 students, 2/3 drama and singing, 1/3 dance.

I'm also in the process of negotiating a new contract; I will come back with details when everything is finalized. All I can say is - it is in germany and I will start this fall.

Last, at least for now, I would again thank Annegret for having this great web-page, and for sometimes-even acting like an agent.... Believe it or not, but people have actually sent audition invites for me via her :-) I suppose I owe her agent-percentage if this keeps happening!!!

And to everyone who has asked questions, I will get on it....

Only suitable now would be - Happy Easter!!! :-D

"Hi everyone!!!

First of all I would like to thank all of you for the very surprising and truly sweet messages. It is very frustrating when something like this happens, and especially when you lead an active life. I remember thinking after the accident that I wanted to return to stage as soon as possible, but unfortunately, these things take time. I will probably be back on stage the end of next week, so about June 9-10th. I will then perform my original role, Anna. If I will play Milady again is now unsure. The odds are unfortunately not in my favour, but one never know what may happen... I will play the last Scarlet show, hopefully in its original shape, although I have to make some adjustment due to my foot and due to the cast I will be wearing. What this changes will be I don't know yet, it has to be worked out, you'll just have to wait and see..... But again, to all the messages I got, it's very much appreciated, thank you all so much!!

Many greetings from ace"

"First of all, I apologize to everyone for the cancelled Scarlet Pimpernel-show on sunday 06.03. God knows, I would have been on that stage with broken limbs and no voice, this was supposed to be the last one, but I have to keep in mind that the show we did on the 24.02. was a worthy and a good end. To explain it all, very short (I'll try...), I got picked up by an ambulance at the Operahouse at about 13.00. Nothing overly dramatic about it, there was just noone there to drive me to the hospital... I took a lot of tests, they couldn't really find anything out, but they assumed that I've received a virus on my balance-nerve. Around 16.00 I took a cab back to the Operahouse, naturally, all my stuff was there, I was to go to St.Gallen straight after the show.
It has come to my attention that there has been some "exchange of words" (to call it nicely) between some people, because some asked for autograph and because I stopped and did it. Again, very short (and again I'll try...), some people just happened to be standing inside with the "doorman", and honestly, that was the least thing I could do. I appreciate and thank you for all yr concern, but I was not dying... ;-)
Anyway, went straight from Halle to St.Gallen (I had the doctor's approval, and no, I was not driving...), due to rehearsal start with Dracula.
When I'm writing to u all it's sunday, and I've been through a-helluva-week. Rehearsals didn't start out too good, with me ending up twice in the hospital, but to reassure everone, I'm now ok, and enjoying rehearsals more than ever!!!
Again, I'm very sorry for the show, and thank you all for the support, wherever I am!!
Until next time...
Best, ace"

Thanks to everyone for the questions, very fun to answer. And sometimes a bit difficult... As some of u know I had an offer from both Aida and Les Mis, but it was never a doubt if I would take 1st cast Fantine over "walking cover" Amneris. I'm very proud of having the chance to play Fantine, I love her character!! And I've met people that mean so much to me, and they're always with me!!!
